Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Told in English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese.
Come here, my sweetheart, and let me tell you about a curious little girl named Goldilocks, whose golden curls bounced as she wandered deep into the forest one day. Before long, she stumbled upon a cozy cottage and, finding the door open, she peeked inside — and then, rather boldly, walked right in!
On the table sat three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks tasted the first — 'Too hot!' she cried. She tasted the second — 'Too cold!' But the third bowl, the smallest one, was just right, and she ate it all up! Then she noticed three chairs. The first was too hard, the second too soft, but the third, smallest chair was just right — until, oh dear, it broke clean apart under her!
Feeling sleepy, she went upstairs and found three beds. The first was too hard, the second too soft, but the third, smallest bed, was just right, and she fell fast asleep. Now, my dear, can you guess whose cottage this was? It belonged to three bears — Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear — who had stepped out for a walk while their porridge cooled.
When they returned, Papa Bear rumbled, 'Someone's been eating my porridge!' Mama Bear said, 'Someone's been eating my porridge!' And Baby Bear cried, 'Someone's eaten my porridge all up!' They found their broken chair, and then, tiptoeing upstairs, they found Goldilocks fast asleep in Baby Bear's bed! Startled awake by Baby Bear's surprised squeak, Goldilocks leapt up, and — without even a proper goodbye — dashed out the window and ran all the way home through the forest, never to wander into a stranger's cottage again. And that, my darling, is why we always ask before we borrow, and always respect what belongs to others.
