Eight Planets Go Walking
Told in English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese.
In space there is a big, hot, bright ball. Do you know what it is? It's the SUN!
And round and round the sun walk eight planets. Round and round. Let's meet them.
First is Mercury. He is the smallest, and he runs the fastest. Zoom, zoom, zoom!
Next is Venus. She is bright and shiny, and very, very hot. Too hot to touch!
Next is EARTH. That's us! That's where you are, right now! Earth is blue and green, with water and trees and elephants and YOU.
Next is Mars. He is red and dusty. Red like a tomato!
Then comes Jupiter. Oh, Jupiter is BIG. The biggest of them all. If Earth were a pea, Jupiter would be a football.
Then Saturn. Saturn wears rings, round and round him, like a hoop. Can you make a circle with your arms? That's Saturn!
Then Uranus. He is green-blue, and he spins on his side. Tilt your head! Like that!
And last is Neptune. He is deep dark blue, and he is the farthest away. He walks very, very slowly.
Eight planets, walking round the sun. Round and round and round.
And on the third one — the blue and green one — there is a little bed with a little person in it.
That's you.
