Rain in the Jungle

Told in English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese.

The jungle was hot. Very, very hot. The leaves were droopy. The animals were sleepy.

Then — look up! The sky went grey. A big cloud came.

And then...

Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter.

Rain! Can you tap your hands like the rain? Pitter patter, pitter patter!

The rain fell on the big leaves. Plip! Plop!

The rain fell on the river. Splish! Splash!

The elephant lifted his trunk up high and sprayed the water everywhere. Whooosh!

The monkeys swung from branch to branch, and the water shook off their fur. Shake, shake, shake!

The frog jumped into a puddle. SPLASH! And again! SPLASH!

The little birds opened their beaks and drank the raindrops. Drip, drip.

And the flowers, who had been so droopy and tired, lifted their heads right up. Ahhh.

Then slowly, slowly, the rain got softer.

Pitter... patter... pitter...

And it stopped.

The sun came out. And do you know what was in the sky?

A rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue.

The whole jungle looked up and smiled.
